While there is a number of Anthem problem, the two biggest problems currently are crashes and Anthem that are bricking many PS4 devices. If your PS4 doesn’t work after suffering an Anthem crash, the good news is that you can still save it. It’s not a complete fix, and in case you can get back playing, you should hold off on playing Anthem until it has an all clear.
Although it’s not a complex fix for a bricked PS4, the high chance is that the file structure on your PS4 is broken due to an unexpected shutdown during the Anthem crashes. You can fix your bricked your PSS4 by rebuilding your PS4 database from Safe Mode. It’s a suggestion from Reddit where a user, named katcher12 said a fix for a similar issue with an older game.
How To Fix A Bricked PS4 From Anthem Crashes
The process is quite simple, but you need to spend a few hours to boot your PS4 into Safe Mode and wait for the process to complete. Make sure you must not choose to initialize since it will erase your console. But, if you follow these directions below, you would be able to get back your PS4 into working again and playing other games without losing any saved data or waiting solutions from Sony.
- Power your PS4 off.
- Press and hold the PS4 Power button until you hear two beeps sound.
- Plug a PS4 controller into a USB cable when you are prompted by the system
- Scroll down and move to option 5: Rebuild Database.
- The process might last an hour or longer.
Wait for this process to be done and you can then start your PS4 up normally. After that, you are able to play games on your PS4. However, you should note that it will not stop another Anthem crash, which could get you back into the same position.
EA is still working hard to release a patch fix for the Anthem crash. So we recommend you to wait for that before jumping into Anthem on the PS4 again.
