Gionee fans in India certainly will be excited about today’s hot news when the Chinese producer has launched the Gionee A1-the latest selfie-focused mid-range smartphone. Being announced at the Mobile World Congress last month, the device owns an outstanding premium metal design made of aircraft-grade aluminum.
Thanks to the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, this version is being mass-produced in India, so consumers can look forward to a reasonable price. But the pricing information has not been revealed so users might have to wait longer to receive more official details. In the Indian market, the Gionee A1 will be available in Gray, Black, and Gold. Also color options, and pre-orders will start on March 31, so the smartphone will likely go on sale next month.
The new model with curved glass on top will feature a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution and be powered by the MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. Besides, the Gionee A1is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expandable up to 128GB via a Hybrid Dual SIM slot.
The rear camera comes equipped a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture 5P lens, and a dual-LED flash. Under the dual-tone LED flash is a circular fingerprint scanner with the signature Gionee smiley face logo. If you are a fan of selfie, you cannot be unsurprised at a 16MP resolution front-facing camera with a dedicated selfie flash and a bright f/2.0 aperture lens. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n dual-band, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, and 4G VoLTE network support. A large 4010mAh capacity battery can ensure all functions to operate properly. In terms of audio department, the Gionee A1 uses Waves MaxxAudio technology for prime output via the 3.5mm headphone jack. The device’s dimension is 154.5 x 76.5 x 8.5mm together with its weight at 182 grams. Last but not least, it will ship to Android 7.0 Nougat operating system based on Gionee’s Amigo OS custom skin on top.
