iOS 10.2 public beta 2 has just been rolled out to members of the Beta Software Program. If your iPhone/iPad is currently running on iOS 10 public beta, simply head to Settings > General > Software Updates and download right away. Steps to make an archived backup of your iPhone or iPad

Before getting started, ensure you make a backup of your iPhone/iPad, as your device may face issues when you make significant changes to it.

Step 1: Pair your iPhone or iPad with your Mac or Windows PC.

Step 2: Open iTunes.

Step 3: Click on the iPhone or iPad icon in the menu bar when it shows up.

Step 4: Ensure backup is set to This Computer. It’s highly recommended to enable Encrypted backup.

Step 5: Click on Back Up Now. Also, tap on Encrypt Backup and enter a password if you want the security.

Step 6: Back up Apps if required.

Step 7: Hit Command to bring up Preferences. You can also open Preferences by heading to iTunes in the menu bar).

Step 8: Click on the Devices tab.

Step 9: Option-click on your Backup and select Archive.

Note that archiving will block your current backup from being overwritten by an iOS 10 backup in the future.

Steps to register your account for the iOS 10.2 public beta

If you have never got in on a public beta before, you will need to register your account for it.

Step 1: Head over to beta.apple.com on the iPhone or iPad you would like to register for the beta.

Step 2: Tap on Sign up.

(If you have already signed up for a public beta in the past, tap on Sign in and jump to the next section below).

Step 3: You are prompted to punch in your Apple ID email address and password.

Step 4: Tap on Sign in.

Step 5: Tap on Accept to agree to the terms and conditions.

After you have successfully signed up and signed in, you can now trigger the download process.

Steps to enroll your iPhone or iPad in the iOS 10.2 public beta

Before you begin, note that if you’ve already joined an Apple public beta in the past, you will need to delete the previous beta profile before installing the iOS 10 version. To do this, you delve into Settings > General > Profile, choose the iOS Beta Software Profile, and hit Delete Profile.

Step 1: Head over to beta.apple.com on the iPhone or iPad you would like to register for the beta.

Step 2: Choose the iOS tab, if it’s not highlighted already.

Step 3: Tap on Download profile > Install.

Step 4: Punch in your Passcode.

Step 5: Tap on Install to consent to the beta agreement.

Step 6: Tap on Install at the bottom to confirm.

Once your iPhone or iPad is done restarting, it should begin downloading iOS 10. Now, the process is the same as regular iOS update.

Steps to install the iOS 10.2 public beta

Step 1: Open Settings from your Home screen.

Step 2: Choose General > Software Update.

Step 3: Once the update is available, simply tap on Download and Install.

Step 4: Punch in your Passcode.

Step 5: Choose Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Step 6: Choose Agree again to confirm.

Your iPhone/iPad will now restart to install iOS 10. Wait until the process is done.

Steps to get started with iOS 10.2 public beta

Once your iPhone/iPad restarts, it will be running iOS 10. And now follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Tap Continue.

Step 2: Punch in your Apple ID password. Note that iCloud settings will update, so wait until it’s finished.
