How to PIN the Important locations in Google Maps

Google Maps gives you the ability to drop a PIN in it. This will let you easily remember a location in the future. In this tutorial, we will walk you through how to PIN locations in Google Maps. Pinning locations is supported in both the browser-based and mobile versions of Google Maps.

Steps to PIN locations in Google Maps on a Desktop Browser

Step 1: Point your web browser to Google Maps.

Step 2: Type in a search term to bring down the map to the general location where you would like to drop a pin.

Step 3: You need to drag the map with the mouse to view different locations on it. Alternatively, you can use the zoom in and zoom out feature.

Step 4: Right-click the particular spot on the map where you would like to drop a pin. You can choose either Directions to here or Directions from here.

Step 5: There is a green pin on the map indicating the location where you had earlier dropped the pin.

Step 6: Now, You click the green marker, if you would like to search for locations near that spot, or to save the location to your Maps account.

Steps to PIN locations in Google Maps on Mobile

Step 1: Launch the Google Maps app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

Step 2: Type in a search term to bring down the map to the general location where you would like to drop a pin.

Step 3: You need to swipe the screen to view different locations on it. Alternatively, you can use the zoom in and zoom out feature.

Step 4: Tap and hold a location on the map to drop a pin on it.

Step 5: Tap on the pin to look for directions from or to that location.
