Step 1: Open the Mail app on your Mac.

Step 2: Choose View from the Menu bar.

Step 3: Choose Customize Touch Bar to bring up the customization panel.

Step 4: Drag a tool you wish on the Touch Bar from the presented menu to add it to the Control Strip.

Step 5: Move the cursor down into the Touch Bar and choose a tool to take it away from the Control Strip.

Step 6: Choose a tool on the Touch Bar and drag it to a new location on the Touch Bar to rearrange the order.

Step 7: Once completed, hit the Done button.

Steps to customize the email composition tools

Step 1: Open the Mail app on your Mac.

Step 2: Choose any email and click Reply.

Step 3: Choose View from the Menu bar.

Now, just follow steps 3 – 7 to customize the email composition tools.

Steps to use the Touch Bar to send an email in the Mail app

If you want to start a new email, tap the Compose icon that looks like a square with a pencil.

If you want to reply to an email:

  • Tap the Reply icon that looks like an arrow pointing to the left.
  • Tap the Reply All icon that looks like two arrows pointing to the left.

If you want to forward an email, choose it, and tap on the Forward icon that looks like an arrow pointing to the right.

In order to send the email, tap the Send icon that looks like a paper airplane.

Steps to use the Touch Bar to organize your email in the Mail app

  • In order to organize your inbox, choose an email to perform an action.
  • To move it to your archive folder, tap the Archive button that looks like an office box .
  • To move it to the junk folder, tap the Junk icon that looks like a box with an X on it and an arrow.
  • To move it to a folder that your Mac predicts you will wish to move it depending on previous actions, tap the Move to icon.
  • To throw away an email, tap the Trash icon that looks like a trash can.
  • To mark an email as read or unread, tap the Mark Unread/read icon that looks like an envelope with a dot or an opened envelope.
  • To flag an email, tap the Flag icon.
