The Vivo V5 Plus is set to be announced at an event later this week, however, it is already open for pre-order in Malaysia. To specify, Malaysian authorized retailer DirectD has listed the handset on its website for the price of RM1,799 (around $400). The listing also reveals its hard specs.
The Vivo V5 Plus will feature a 5.5-inch full HD screen. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card in its hybrid SIM tray’s secondary slot. Though this is not the most ideal solution, you can at least further extend the storage in case you use the phone with just a single SIM card slot.
Speaking of camera, the Vivo V5 Plus will come with double selfie cameras, including a 20MP primary camera and a secondary 8MP unit. Plus, the handset will pack a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture lens.
Moving on battery life, the Vivo V5 Plus is likely to be backed by a 3,160mAh battery with fast charging support. Measuring 153.8 x 75.6 x 7.6mm, the handset will ship with on Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed out of the box.
Vivo is expected to launch the V5 Plus on January 20 (Friday this week), and pre-orders will begin shipping to customers the next day (January 21).
Generally speaking, the Vivo V5 Plus sports big upgrades from its predecessor, the Vivo V5. Powered by a MediaTek MT6750 processor, the Vivo V5 features a 5.5-inch HD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. The handset comes with a single 20MP front-facing camera, and a standard 13MP rear camera.
